Affiliate Links

Some links on this website are affiliate links
Some links on this website are affiliate links

From time to time you will see a notation that a link on the site is an affiliate link. Basically what that means is that if you click on the link and purchase an item, I may receive a commission. Usually the commission is very small.

Why do I use affiliate links?

This is a small way to help me keep the website going. It does cost money to operate this website and the podcast. That money comes out of my own pocket. There is also significant time involved in putting this together, time that I could be using out on deliveries.

My mission is to help independent contractors understand and claim their rights and to take control of their businesses. My goal is to provide helpful information with no expectation in return. I can can continue to do so and can do more of it if this site and podcast can be self supporting.

At the same time, I want to be tasteful. I personally dislike wading through sites that are crammed with ads and that seem more about selling you something. I don't want to be that guy. The last thing I want to do is plaster the site with advertisements or to have you feel like you are being sold. I want to hear from you if I appear to be crossing that line.

My Pledge to you:

There are times I will make recommendations about what I feel can help you in your business. I pledge to offer up the best recommendations I can think of no matter if it's with an affiliate site. I pledge not to let the ability to earn money influence my recommendations to you.

When I list resources, I will list the best resources I know of. You will see links to products and providers that I have no relationship with.

Should you purchase from any of these affiliate links?

Obviously, I'd appreciate it if you did. It helps me keep the site running. But the bottom line is, I want this to be helpful, first and foremost. If you can help me do that, I appreciate that.

But if you decide to find your own option for any of those things, that's okay. A lot of my links are on Amazon. You may be one of those who likes to use Amazon Smile to support a favorite charity through your purchases with them. If you do, I'm going to be the first to ask you not to use my link. Find the product, copy the link or the ASIN (product number) then log into your Smile account and go back to the product. I don't want to take away from your ability to do that.

If you do decide that you want to help this site out, either through affiliate links or any other options that may come available, Thank you.
