I don’t know about you but these 31 days have flown by for me.
This is the end.
And it’s the beginning.
What kind of beginning will it be for you?
(and before I go any further, man I look sleepy in that thumbnail in the video! But at least I got a haircut!!!)
I’ve enjoyed putting this together. I enjoyed being able to provide this without asking anything in return. While I’ve put a lot of time into it, it’s worth it to me. Part of what I’m doing is trying to put it together in a way that I can make it available for larger numbers.
I think I’d like to find a way to continue to offer it for free. I’m trying to figure out how to make that happen.
Part of why I like providing it for free is, I can call in some favors then.
I know, you’re thinking, ahhhhh, so there was a catch.
Yes there was. After going through all this, here are the favors I want to ask of you:
Favor #1: Remember who you are.
You’re not anyone’s employee. You aren’t there to be pushed around by any of these gig companies.
YOU are the boss.
Never forget that. You’re running a business. Embrace that.
Favor #2: Make awesome business decisions.
Think of what you’re doing like a business. Does Doordash want you to drive ten miles for three bucks? Give yourself permission to ask if it makes business sense.
You get to decide. Hang on to that right. Be the boss. Make the decisions that are best for you.
They don’t have to be the decisions I would make. Nor do they have to be what anyone on Facebook or Youtube or anywhere else would make.
They just have to be the decisions that make the most sense for you.
Favor #3: Know your worth. Accept nothing less.
Set your price. It’s your right to do so.
Know what you need to make this worth while.
Then accept nothing less.
Favor #4: Give this a chance to plant a seed in you.
How do you like being your own boss?
Before you started this, did you see yourself as someone who could run your own business?
How about now?
Maybe this is a gateway drug. Maybe you want to keep being your own boss – to find ways to do your own thing.
Give yourself permission to spread your wings.
Now I’m going to say, not everyone is a great fit for doing that. That’s not a one-is-better-than-the-other kid of thing. We all have talents. I’ve heard it said that everyone has their own area of genius.
Even if you don’t see yourself as an entrepreneur, I hope this has helped you build the confidence to see that you can do some pretty awesome things.
Whether you’re your own boss or you work as an employee (or a little of both) – the one thing I want to pass on is, you can take control of your life. You can do this, whatever “this” is.
You’ve got this.
Favor #5: Let me know where to send your shirt!
Thanks so much for being part of this.
I promised a shirt. I want to get it sent off to you, but I need to know where to send it.
Let me know down below.
And while you’re at it, could I ask favor 5B? Give me some honest feedback on this course? Where can it improve? Do you wish anything were included? How has it helped you?
Thanks in advance for ALL those favors.
